Ovum, the independent analyst and consulting company, has recognized Autonomy (LSE: AU. or AU.L), as the leader in the enterprise information access market, ranked by its market position and breadth of functional scope and appropriateness for the enterprise. The recently released report titled "The Future of Search,"(1) also notes that "through the acquisitions in 2007 of the archiving specialist ZANTAZ, and most recently UK records management specialist Meridio, Autonomy has now demonstrated its differences from the rest of the search and discovery pack.
Fred Olsen saves £40,000 thanks to MailMarshal

Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, the Norwegian-owned, UK-based shipping firm, has saved nearly £40,000 by installing an e-mail security appliance to service its fleet and head office communications. Andrew Ericsson, the company's IT and network manager, said the installation of two clustered MailMarshal e10000 appliances at its Ipswich head office had enabled it to slash the number of servers and software licences and the amount of time spent administering e-mail security.
ZANTAZ Integral to Proving Massive Banking Fraud

In what has been called "the largest trading fraud ever carried out by a single person", a trader at Societe Generale has been accused of making unauthorized bets on stock markets that cost the bank an astounding $7.2 billion. The bank has now released the preliminary results of its internal investigation. In uncovering how the trader did it, the committee was only able to reach its conclusions based on the email messages stored in the Autonomy ZANTAZ archive.

Announcing TransVault V3.1

UK messaging expert Essential has today announced its latest release of TransVault, an application designed to migrate archived email and other data types between different locations and platforms. Version 3.1 of TransVault introduces support for additional archive formats and storage devices as well as the ability to re-write email addresses to reflect a move into a new domain.
